Indiana University - Customer Case Study

Indiana University, a long-recognized leader in campus technology supporting more than 100,000 students, faculty, and staff, faced the challenge of getting up-to-date Adobe tools into the hands of its community affordably and consistently. High software costs, mixed versions between home and campus, ad-hoc departmental purchases, and compliance risks hindered teaching, learning, and administrative workflows and ran counter to IU’s “IT in abundance” strategic goal.

To address this, IU signed a first-of-its-kind three-year Education Enterprise License Agreement with Adobe and made the full suite available for free download via IUware Online, backed by campus distribution, support, and training. The program drove rapid adoption—96,150 downloads overall with 28,000 in the first three weeks—prompted infrastructure upgrades, standardized software across campuses, reduced licensing and compliance costs, and spurred refreshed curricula, higher enrollment in creative courses, and greater administrative efficiency.
