How the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children partners with Adobe to help find missing and at-risk kids

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) works to find missing and at‑risk kids and to identify victims of exploitation, but its legacy, largely manual digital systems made it hard to manage millions of images and time‑sensitive documents, deliver content across devices, and get critical approvals in the first 48 hours of a case. With diverse audiences and strict security needs, NCMEC needed faster asset management, mobile‑first experiences, and streamlined document workflows to increase visibility and speed investigations.

NCMEC implemented Adobe Experience Cloud (Experience Manager on Microsoft Azure), Creative Cloud, and Document Cloud (Acrobat, Scan, Sign), with Adobe consultants helping redesign the site, centralize assets, add analytics and audience segmentation, and performance‑test workflows. The changes cut bounce rate from ~80% to 20% (a 75% reduction), drove 90% of visitors to click content, increased page views ~48%, boosted donation‑page traffic 218%, sped approvals via Adobe Sign, and supported forensic work (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition) that has helped reunite families and identify victims.
