How DCPS supports students’ social and emotional health through art

District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), a PK-12 district serving about 50,000 students, wanted to strengthen students’ social-emotional learning, creativity, and digital literacy—especially for its largely economically disadvantaged student population. To do that, DCPS brought digital art and storytelling into classrooms using Adobe Creative Cloud Express and other Adobe Creative Cloud apps.

Adobe helped DCPS create virtual exhibits, student videos, and digital lesson materials that expanded how students could create and share art, both in class and remotely. The results included broader student engagement, more accessible creative expression across grade levels, and new ways to showcase student work to families and the public, while also supporting teachers with easier-to-use digital tools.
