University Physicians Network (UPN), a Greater New York organization representing 1,600 physicians across 20 insurance networks, struggled with a slow, paper-based credentialing process: staff printed and mailed 40‑page contracts to physicians and insurers, a workflow that could take weeks and consumed significant time and resources.
UPN adopted Adobe EchoSign to automate emailing, e-signing, routing and tracking of contracts — physicians sign securely via email and a browser with no special software, and completed PDFs are auto‑forwarded and filed. The change eliminated bulky printing and postage, reduced turnaround by about two weeks, improved document visibility, and helped patients access a broader selection of in‑network physicians.
