Green Rock brings greater sustainability, flexibility, and diversity with fully virtual editing

Green Rock is a London-based end-to-end content production company founded in 2008 that set out to promote sustainability, diversity, and inclusion while adapting to changing content consumption and production models. The challenge was to make high-performance, real-time editing accessible to creators worldwide—without the cost, environmental impact, and logistical friction of traditional suites—while preserving the speed and responsiveness of physical edit rooms.

Green Rock built Green Rock VCS, a fully virtual editing platform developed with BASE Media Cloud and BeBop Technology and built around Adobe Creative Cloud, offering instant cloud workstations, Live View and Over the Shoulder collaboration, and secure shared storage. The move to VCS boosted productivity by 34% (about four extra days per month), cut operations costs by 31%, reduced carbon emissions, enabled the company to close its Soho office and scale globally, and won rapid adoption from clients like ITV and XPRIZE as Green Rock progresses on its B Corp journey.
