FreshPlanet’s SongPop is a social music-trivia game that turned a simple idea—naming short song clips—into a viral phenomenon, attracting more than 40 million players and over five million daily active users. FreshPlanet solved this by using Adobe Gaming technologies (Flash Professional, ActionScript, Adobe AIR, Flash Builder, Photoshop) to maintain a single codebase and streamline workflows among designers, developers, and animators. A small team shipped iOS and Android versions in under three months and added the Facebook app a month later; results included accelerated development, cross-platform performance, placement in the top ten Facebook apps for three months, and tens of millions of users—plus open-sourced AIR native extensions for other developers.
