Amazon creates immersive shopping experiences using Substance 3D

Amazon wanted a scalable way to create high-quality 3D product visuals for immersive shopping experiences, but building reliable workflows for the growing demand took years of research. To support this effort, Amazon used Adobe Substance 3D Collection, including Substance 3D Painter and Substance 3D Designer, alongside Maya and Zbrush to produce photorealistic assets.

With Adobe Substance 3D, Amazon streamlined texture creation, shading, and updates for 3D models, enabling more than 400 artists to build interactive experiences like 360-degree views, View in Your Room, and Showroom. The result was faster content production, reduced need for physical prototypes and photoshoots, and improved customer experience, with Amazon noting that richer visuals led to more sales and fewer returns.
