Case Study: IBM iX achieves a simplified, next‑generation MetroPulse UX and faster design‑to‑developer collaboration with Adobe XD (Adobe)

A Adobe Case Study

Preview of the IBM iX Case Study

Adobe partner IBM iX uses Adobe XD to redesign service that helps businesses predict and address local market demand

IBM iX redesigned IBM MetroPulse, a cloud service that gives retailers (customers include Nestlé and Shell) hyper‑local demand insights, but the original data‑scientist interface was too complex for store managers. The challenge was to present actionable, easy‑to‑understand data so frontline users could make timely decisions like inventory and location planning.

Using Adobe XD, IBM iX built a next‑generation UX and an atomic design system, organized data into four retailer‑relevant categories, and created personas and interactive prototypes to guide development. Adobe XD accelerated collaboration and handoffs (cloud docs, exportable assets, React support), delivered faster time‑to‑market, drew strong positive feedback at the NRF demo, and produced a reusable system for future projects.
