A Adobe Case Study
Schneider Electric Automation GmbH, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, needed to produce large volumes of technical documentation for diverse industries and global audiences using a distributed team. The challenge was to move from unstructured DTP workflows to a single‑source, XML‑based publishing system that improves content reuse, supports many languages and formats (PDF, CHM, HTML, HTML5, XML), and scales across peak publishing loads.
The company implemented an XML toolchain centered on Adobe FrameMaker and FrameMaker Publishing Server integrated with Ovidius TCToolbox, Miramo, and Ovidius XService to automate server‑based, parallelized publishing and template management. Automated template generation (12 master templates → ~250 outputs for 13 languages), parallel processing, and CMS integration delivered faster, more consistent multi‑format publishing, 17 years of proven FrameMaker use, and a current pilot to enable responsive HTML5 for mobile access.
