A Adobe Photoshop Case Study
Green Mountain Technology & Career Center (GMTCC), a northern Vermont high school serving roughly 120 students, needed to prepare learners for further education and in‑demand digital careers while closing opportunity gaps in a rural, less affluent community and extending learning beyond the classroom. To teach industry‑standard workflows and real‑world skills, the school adopted vendor Adobe Photoshop and the broader Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Lightroom, Photoshop CC, Premiere Pro CC, After Effects, Illustrator, etc.).
Adobe Photoshop delivered Adobe Creative Cloud via the Value Incentive Plan (VIP) at about $25 per student, provisioning lab iMacs and home licenses so students could practice outside school. The result: award‑winning student work (a 2017 documentary aired on Vermont PBS), repeated top placements at SkillsUSA including a 2016 sweep in Advertising Design, a Congressional Art Show winner, and students producing paid freelance and TV commercial work—demonstrable impacts on competition outcomes, portfolios, college credits and real‑world employment readiness.
