University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - Customer Case Study

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill partnered with vendor Adobe InDesign to boost campus-wide digital literacy and better prepare students for 21st‑century careers. UNC needed a standardized set of creative tools that students and faculty across disciplines could use for multimedia assignments and professional portfolios, while also reducing IT administrative overhead and simplifying license management.

Adobe InDesign delivered Adobe Creative Cloud for enterprise (including InDesign CC, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Spark, and Acrobat) and used the Adobe Admin Console with Named User Licensing to provide campus-wide access for about 29,000 students and staff. The deployment increased student engagement and cross‑disciplinary use—students produce videos, portfolios, and multimedia sites—while reducing IT support time (fewer admin updates, automatic license revocation) and standardizing software so faculty can focus more on instruction.
