A Adobe InDesign Case Study

Training American Red Cross workers how to reunite families separated by humanitarian emergencies

The American Red Cross needed to raise awareness of its Restoring Family Links (RFL) program and quickly scale consistent training for paid staff and volunteers who help reunite families after disasters and conflict. To expand online learning while preserving in‑person mentorship, the organization adopted Adobe Captivate (2017 Release) and leveraged Adobe Creative Cloud workflows—including Adobe InDesign—to build interactive eLearning modules.

Using Adobe Captivate with Creative Cloud assets (created in tools like Adobe InDesign), the Red Cross launched eight RFL modules and saw more than 440 learners in the first year, a 4x increase in volunteers completing eLearning. The Adobe InDesign‑enabled workflow improved learning consistency, reduced one‑on‑one retraining, freed staff to focus on casework, and set the organization up to expand mobile delivery and develop at least 15 more modules.
