Customized eLearning tools help the University of Arizona educate students of all abilities on all devices

The University of Arizona, a large public research university with extensive online offerings, needed a modern synchronous web-conferencing solution to replace a problematic Java-based tool. Key challenges were ensuring accessibility for students with disabilities, better mobile device support, deep integration with existing LMS platforms, and the ability to support active learning and small-group work at scale.

UA implemented Adobe Connect with eSyncTraining’s LTI integration and SSO, bringing built-in accessibility (including real-time closed captioning), mobile apps, breakout rooms, and LMS roster sync. The university purchased 500 concurrent-user licenses and made Connect available through Brightspace; within 15 months over 30,000 users logged in, more than 3,000 hosts created over 6,000 meeting rooms, and the platform boosted instructional creativity, accessibility, and use across teaching, administration, and research.
