A Adobe ColdFusion Case Study
Webapper, a global web application consultancy, faced recurring, extreme traffic spikes for auto racing sites that strained physical servers (up to a 40-fold surge on race days). Working on the Adobe ColdFusion platform, Webapper needed a scalable, high-performance hosting approach to meet customer demands for speed, reliability, and control while evolving its services to include cloud hosting.
Webapper implemented Adobe ColdFusion in a customized Amazon Web Services cloud, migrating six to eight properties in one week and applying ColdFusion tuning, caching, and code fixes (removing a non‑scalable Twitter aggregation). Adobe ColdFusion’s monitoring and configurability enabled auto-scaling and pre-warming with Amazon, producing sub-second responses at peak, keeping per-server load to 10–20 requests/sec (versus prior spikes up to ~50), and delivering flawless peak-season performance.
