Case Study: Prospective Medical Data International achieves secure, regulatory-compliant eCOA data capture and faster deployments with Adobe ColdFusion

A Adobe ColdFusion Case Study

Preview of the Prospective Medical Data International Case Study

Medical software manufacturer uses Adobe ColdFusion to more securely collect electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA) data

Prospective Medical Data International builds and operates the Question MagiXX Framework (QMF) to collect electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA) and patient‑reported outcome (ePRO) data for late‑phase clinical research. PMDI needed a way to securely capture, validate, and audit sensitive health data that complies with regulations like HIPAA and FDA Part 11, while enabling non‑Java developers to leverage Java capabilities and rapidly provision servers. The solution is built using Adobe ColdFusion (and ColdFusion Builder) as the core development and deployment platform.

Using Adobe ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder, PMDI delivered a validated, role‑based web and desktop QMF system that supports digital signatures, encryption, PDF/MS Office generation, and integrated source control. Adobe ColdFusion cut development time in half, sped product packaging and deployments from a day to under two hours, reduced provisioning from about a month to roughly 20 minutes, improved hardware utilization by up to 40%, saved the equivalent of one FTE, and enabled QMF to run in over 40 countries while strengthening data security and regulatory compliance.
