ITX Corp. - Customer Case Study

ITX Corp., a Pittsford, New York web development firm, was tasked with fixing performance, stability, and security issues on a high‑traffic open‑access research repository it built (SSRN). Using Adobe ColdFusion (including the 64‑bit runtime and ColdFusion Builder), ITX needed to eliminate frequent memory‑related server crashes, reduce the site’s heavy hardware footprint, and tighten protections for large volumes of uploads/downloads and many daily users.

ITX implemented an upgraded, modular site built on Adobe ColdFusion, leveraging 64‑bit memory management, ColdFusion components, and built‑in security features to prevent XSS/CSRF and improve session handling. The Adobe ColdFusion solution stopped server restarts, cut server count from 14 to 8, stabilized RAM use with CPU averages under 15%, network utilization below 2 Mbps and disk use under 50%, and enabled code reuse that reduced development time and costs.
