Alcatel-Lucent turned to Adobe ColdFusion and the Adobe Flash Platform to integrate social media into its business-to-business marketing and establish thought leadership in the emerging LTE market. The challenge was to deliver relevant, real-time industry news and conversations to wireless service providers and influencers in a way that cuts through content overload.

Working with MAARK, Alcatel-Lucent deployed the LTE Buzz content-aggregation widget as an Adobe AIR/Flex desktop app with Adobe ColdFusion running server-side to manage Flash Remoting and back-end services. The Adobe ColdFusion–based solution was built in weeks, delivered continuously updated, filtered streams, and drove measurable engagement: thousands of downloads, hundreds of open sessions per week, and over 60% of subscribers using the widget daily, creating an industry-first, viral B2B marketing channel.
