The Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) represents 139 local governments and manages a Preferred Supplier program to streamline procurement. WALGA’s contract team was hampered by lengthy, paper-based workflows for 50–170 page contracts—printing, binding and mailing three copies—which led to delays of weeks or months, poor visibility, high administrative effort, and unnecessary paper waste.

WALGA piloted and adopted Adobe Sign (Adobe Document Cloud) to digitize signature workflows; within a year they completed 511 supplier contracts with an average turnaround of 1.3 hours, reduced administrative processing from 100 to 8 minutes (a 92% improvement), saved more than 50,000 printouts (≈AU$56,000), and gained real-time tracking, audit trails and automated reminders—accelerating supplier onboarding and improving member services.
