The State of Utah Uses Adobe Acrobat Sign to Accelerate Telework During Crisis

The State of Utah adopted Adobe Acrobat Sign as part of the Lieutenant Governor’s New Workplace Teleworking Initiative to enable remote work, reduce paper processes, and improve government efficiency. When a 5.7-magnitude earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the state faced urgent continuity challenges—many workflows that required multi-party, in-person sign-offs suddenly had to be completed remotely.

Utah rapidly expanded Acrobat Sign and Acrobat DC to digitize approvals and create clear, accountable workflows. Approval cycles that once took two to three days were completed in minutes; the state enabled over 2,500 users in 30 days and accelerated turnaround on more than 1,000 documents, streamlining procurement, grants, budgets and emergency response while establishing a more resilient, paperless telework model.
