Cats Protection places cats in homes faster, with speedy, contact-free adoptions using Adobe Acrobat Sign

Cats Protection, the UK’s largest feline welfare charity, needed to keep adoptions moving during COVID-19 when centres closed to the public. With hundreds of staff and volunteers and paper-based forms slowing placements, the charity faced delays in rehoming cats, reduced capacity for emergency cases, and a risk of poor matches leading to returns.

Working with Phoenix Software, Cats Protection launched a “Hands‑Free Homing” process using Adobe Acrobat Sign, rolling e‑signatures out to 37 adoption centres in five months. Paperwork time dropped from two weeks to about 2.5 hours, enabling more than 9,000 adoptions in the first ten months of 2020 (5,000 via Acrobat Sign), better matches that kept return rates low, and improved compliance and efficiency across the organisation.
