The European Parliament Gets 22 Languages Talking in One Voice with Server-Based Document Automation from Adlib

The European Parliament faced a massive document-management challenge: supporting 785 Members of the European Parliament and 22 official languages across dozens of committees that generate up to 1,000–1,500 documents per sitting, all of which must be drafted, reviewed, translated and available in the correct language within two working days. The Distribution Service, led by Paulo Larisch, found its home‑grown systems unable to handle the volume, multilingual formats and tight deadlines, so the European Parliament turned to Adlib Software for a server‑based document automation solution.

Adlib Software deployed Adlib Express across six servers and implemented powerful XML Job Tickets to automate rules‑based processing, batch PDF conversion, watermarking, dynamic footers, secure access and automated print output. The result is a stable, load‑balanced workflow that moves documents automatically into unique paths by event and language, virtually eliminating manual errors, meeting tight turnaround times and enabling portable deployments for foreign delegations — outcomes the European Parliament reports as smooth, reliable and problem‑free.
