Leading Oil & Gas Company faced a mounting content-management challenge: millions of historical well-related documents were scattered across network shares and multiple repositories in inconsistent, non-searchable formats, undermining their Enterprise Well Portal and OpenText ECM strategy and risking compliance issues. After evaluating vendors, the company selected Adlib Software and its Content Intelligence platform to address classification, extraction and migration needs.

Adlib Software implemented a three-step framework—standardize and render documents to searchable PDFs with OCR, identify/classify/extract well identities and document types, then validate and upload into OpenText—automating migration and cleanup. The project processed 100% of targeted files, enhanced 86% for upload readiness (with taxonomy and well identity assigned) and flagged 20% as duplicates, restoring findability, reducing duplication and enabling scalable future migrations to support compliance.
