The International Energy Company, an international energy firm in Houston, needed a way to support compliant records retention and contract auditing as part of its IPO preparations and later restructuring. Working with Adlib Software, the company also needed to make large volumes of legal and accounting documents searchable in Microsoft SharePoint, including existing PDF and TIFF files stored in a legacy records system.

Adlib Software implemented an automated PDF transformation and OCR solution that watched folders, processed incoming MFP scans, and converted documents into searchable formats, including PDF/A for long-term archiving. The rollout took about an hour and a half with Adlib Professional Services, and the company now uses the system with about 50 users processing a few hundred documents per week, with files returning to the repository in just 2–3 seconds and no reported issues finding content.
