Adlib OCR Capability Proves Effective in Helping Energy Company Manage Business-Critical Documents in SharePoint

AEI Services LLC, a Houston-based international energy company undergoing restructuring, needed to make thousands of legacy and incoming PDF/TIFF documents stored in SharePoint fully text-searchable to meet records-management and potential IPO scrutiny. They selected Adlib Software and its Adlib PDF Enterprise OCR solution to address the gap left by MFP scanners that did not automatically produce searchable content.

Adlib Software implemented Adlib PDF Enterprise with automated “watch folders” and SharePoint workflows to bulk-OCR legacy archives and automatically process incoming files, a setup completed with Adlib Professional Services in about 1.5 hours. The deployment delivered fast, high-fidelity OCR (documents processed in 2–3 seconds), enabled 50 Legal and Accounting users to process a few hundred documents per week with full searchability and no user complaints, and provided scalable throughput and measurable productivity gains.
