Global Energy Corporation engaged Adlib Software when a recent acquisition and a retiring workforce left nearly one million chemical research documents largely unsearchable and at risk of losing mission‑critical IP. The company needed a fast migration, long‑term archiving and searchable access to this ‘dark data,’ so it brought in Adlib Software’s content cleaning, capture and classification capabilities powered by its Advanced Rendering classification solution.

Adlib Software, working with a key partner and the customer, implemented robust de‑duplication, classification and repository‑ready conversion (OpenText), delivering the migrated corpus within 60 days with a failure rate under 0.2%. Key results included reducing the collection size by more than 35% through de‑duplication, dramatically shrinking an initial >400 GB dataset to optimize transfer and storage, developing a new 5‑attribute taxonomy for precise classification, and establishing infrastructure to extract and organize dark data going forward.
