Vinted, a fast-growing mobile marketplace for second-hand fashion with over 1.5 million monthly users, wanted to improve what happened after an install: the generic onboarding wasn’t capitalizing on the user’s pre-install exposure to specific creatives, channels or product categories. The challenge was to carry campaign context from the ad into the first app experience to nudge users further down the conversion funnel.
Using adjust’s real-time attribution data and an SDK delegate callback, Vinted passed creative and campaign parameters into the app at first open and used them to tailor onboarding—surfacing the exact category or brand the user had seen in the ad. In small-scale tests this reduced the path to relevant products and lifted conversion to buyer by 77% over campaign average, improving first-time purchases and encouraging return visits.
