A1 Telekom Austria Group cuts campaign emissions with Adform and Scope3

A1 Telekom Austria Group, a telecommunications provider with a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2040, sought to extend its carbon reduction strategy into its digital advertising efforts. Their challenge was to lower emissions from their programmatic ad campaigns while maintaining high performance. To address this, they partnered with vendor Adform to utilize its Carbon Reduction feature.

Adform implemented its solution, which is powered by Scope3 and integrated into its FLOW platform. This feature scores media based on carbon footprint and automatically excludes high-emission domains. As a result, A1 successfully reduced CO2 emissions across its campaigns. The effort also yielded a decrease in the effective cost per click (eCPC) of the carbon saved when compared to average rates in Austria.
