Pulmuone, a Korean fresh foods manufacturer and seller of tofu, noodles, dumplings, and other products, faced S&OP planning challenges across sales, production, and purchasing. Its demand planning was largely top-down, daily demand fluctuations were hard to handle, forecast accuracy was low at the day and SKU level, and there was no tool to manage capacity, WIP, and supply together. Adexa, Inc. implemented a structured demand planning solution covering quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily planning, with product/customer/time hierarchies, seasonal and weekday indexing, revenue forecasting, offline Excel planning, and workflow-based alerts and task management. The result was faster response to demand swings, better forecast accuracy through combined top-down and bottom-up planning, improved customer service, lower inventory, and shorter lead times by better integrating sales and production.
