Seagate Technology, a provider of electronic data storage solutions, needed a better way to plan and execute its vertically complex supply chain across 575 sites, 3,000+ part numbers, and hundreds of thousands of substitution options. Using Adexa’s planning solution, Seagate sought to improve visibility into what to make, where, and when, while better managing shortages, bottlenecks, and demand changes across its business units.

Adexa implemented a combined S&OP and S&OE system integrated with Oracle ERP to generate executable plans daily and continuously adjust to changing demand. The solution improved end-to-end visibility, optimized sourcing and inventory use, and helped Seagate reduce planning time by up to 50%, capture 50% more demand upsides within lead time in consumer, and improve plan accuracy, responsiveness, and shortage visibility.
