Lucent Technologies’ telecommunications equipment division, now called Optical Fiber Solutions (OS), in the USA and Europe needed better synchronization and optimization of product lines for cable manufacturing. Adexa helped address this challenge with its S&OE solution, including a plant planner and shop floor sequencer, integrated with SAP ERP and real-time operations through Camstar MES using Vitria.

Adexa implemented an integrated planning and execution environment that connected planning systems to ERP and MES for more responsive manufacturing control. The result was reduced inventory and planning cycle time, a significant increase in business velocity, and lower costs with improved customer responsiveness.
