Paulaner, one of Germany’s largest breweries headquartered in Munich, faced major forecasting and inventory challenges because its plant sits in the center of the city and can hold very little stock, sometimes just one day of inventory. To improve customer service under these constraints, Paulaner turned to Adexa, Inc. and its Collaborative Demand Planning solution to get more accurate forecasts down to the product package level.
Adexa, Inc. implemented a structured S&OP planning process with statistical forecasting, weather and seasonal inputs, and a user-friendly interface for sales teams to enter short-term forecasts directly or through Excel. The system went live in four months and has helped Paulaner reach 90% short-term forecast accuracy and 85% long-term forecast accuracy, while improving delivery performance and customer service despite severe inventory limits.
