Handshake Knowledge Management Intranet Modernises and Accelerates Technology Access for Colin Biggers & Paisley

Colin Biggers & Paisley, an Australian legal practice with more than 470 staff, needed to replace an outdated SharePoint-based intranet that functioned mainly as a document repository. As the firm modernised its technology stack, the old intranet struggled to connect with Elite 3E, iManage Cloud, and InterAction, leaving many processes manual and inefficient. Vendor Aderant’s Handshake Knowledge Management (KM) intranet was selected to help unify access to data and improve internal communication.

Aderant implemented Handshake in a phased rollout, integrating the firm’s core systems into a single cloud-based intranet and training internal teams to manage content and support it going forward. The result was faster access to financial, contact, and document information, less email traffic from IT, and a stronger single source of truth for the firm. The full rollout, including system updates, took about twelve months, and the firm reported that Handshake substantially increased process speed and data access while delivering strong out-of-the-box functionality.
