Uniqa, an insurance company operating in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, faced a challenge with fragmented data systems following a merger. They needed to consolidate three legacy data warehouses to eliminate silos and create a unified, scalable foundation for modern analytics and AI. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Adastra to build a new cloud-native data platform.

Adastra implemented a solution using Azure and Databricks to create a Delta Lakehouse with a Medallion architecture. This provided Uniqa with a single source of truth, automated data pipelines, and a domain-oriented Data Mesh structure. The results included the consolidation of three legacy systems, improved data consistency, and the onboarding of over 100 users. The platform enabled faster, near-real-time analytics and provided a stable foundation for future AI and machine learning use cases.
