Škoda Auto, a leading global automaker, was manually loading over 2,000 shipping containers daily from its logistics center. This inefficient process, handled by staff using manuals and experience, resulted in containers being shipped with significant unused space, which was both uneconomical and environmentally unfriendly. They challenged Adastra to help optimize this container loading process.

Adastra developed an intelligent application on the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem that calculates the optimal pallet combinations for a container in just 30 seconds. This solution allowed Škoda Auto to utilize more space per container, leading to 300 fewer containers shipped in the first year. This resulted in annual savings of $918K and a reduction of 160 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
