Concordia University cuts manual reporting with Adastra’s Azure data platform

Concordia University, a public research university in Montreal, faced challenges in efficiently generating insights from its data due to manual reporting processes and disparate data sources. This led to error-filled reports and a lack of capabilities for historic and trend analysis. To overcome this, Concordia engaged Adastra to design and build a consolidated Microsoft Azure data platform to support its Institutional Data Platform (IDP) program and address specific use cases in Advancement and Spend Analysis.

Adastra implemented a solution using Azure technologies, including Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory, to automate data processes and enable self-service reporting through Power BI. This provided Concordia with cost-effective access to high-demand technical skills and allowed for automated, accurate reporting. The collaboration with Adastra enabled the university to gain valuable data-driven insights from a single, secure platform and positioned them to expand the role of their Azure data platform for future analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
