The largest public employee retirement system in the U.S. faced the challenge of connecting its core 1980s-era mainframe, which stored critical pension data, to modern applications. This legacy system was not designed for external integration, making real-time data access difficult and hindering operational efficiency, especially during the increased demand of the COVID-19 pandemic. To solve this, the agency turned to Adaptigent for a solution.
Adaptigent implemented its Adaptive Integration Fabric and Fabric Data Hub to provide real-time access to the mainframe data via modern RESTful APIs. This allowed the agency to integrate its mainframe with business intelligence tools and, crucially, its Salesforce CRM system. The successful deployment enabled the agency to maintain full remote operations and continue serving its 350,000+ members without interruption when its physical offices were forced to close.
