US Air Force uses Acunetix WVS to identify and mitigate web application vulnerabilities

The US Air Force, tasked with defending assets in air, space and cyberspace, operates a public-facing web farm of several hundred web servers that face constant, automated attacks. To automate and standardize testing across diverse technologies and strict internal policies, the US Air Force adopted Acunetix’s Web Vulnerability Scanner (Acunetix WVS).

Acunetix delivered a fast, highly configurable scanning solution that enabled custom checks, identified and helped mitigate SQL injection, cross‑site scripting and other web application vulnerabilities across the web farm, and produced detailed audit reports for remediation. Acunetix’s lower cost compared with rivals, rapid scan performance, strong support responsiveness and ease of use (even for trainees) resulted in faster, repeatable vulnerability discovery and improved web application security for the US Air Force.
