Acunetix secures over 100 Chunghwa Telecom websites

Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s largest integrated telecommunications company, needed a lower-cost, high-performance web application security solution that was easy to install and could secure custom web apps across its environments. After evaluating IBM AppScan and HP WebInspect, the company chose Acunetix and deployed Acunetix Enterprise Edition to protect its internal systems and customer-facing sites.

Acunetix was rolled out to about 50 developers and used to scan over 100 internal websites (testing .NET, Java and Visual Basic apps on Microsoft IIS and Ubuntu) as part of the SDLC. Acunetix’s simple installation and flexible scanning resulted in stronger protection of critical systems and an approximately 30% increase in staff productivity for Chunghwa Telecom.
