Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), a New York state nonprofit with about 1,500 employees serving 56 counties, struggled for years with a legacy Sage system and manual spreadsheets to manage fund accounting, grants, and decentralized county operations. Limited licenses, slow month‑end reporting that took weeks, poor grant and program visibility, and remote‑work challenges during the pandemic left staff unable to get timely financial information or support growing program demands.
With Prelude Consulting’s recommendation, CCE implemented Acumatica Cloud ERP—standardizing a statewide chart of accounts and deploying 65 tenants in under six months—to centralize data, enable unlimited users, and support fund/grant accounting. The move delivered real‑time visibility into grants and programs, automated manual processes, cut reporting from weeks to minutes, improved productivity and onboarding, enabled mobile approvals and staffing redundancy, and helped expand programs and revenue while preparing to add CRM capabilities.
