A Acuity Insights Case Study
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, a health sciences school launching a new Physician Assistant program, needed to build an admissions process that prioritized social intelligence, professionalism, and mission fit alongside academic ability. With around 1,000 applicants for only 40 seats, the team wanted a fair way to identify applicants who aligned with the program’s culture and values rather than relying mainly on cognitive markers. Acuity Insights helped address this challenge with Casper and Duet.
Acuity Insights implemented Casper as an early screening tool to assess social intelligence and professionalism, and Duet to measure values alignment between applicants and the program. These results were combined with GPA screening, holistic review, and MMI interviews to create a ranked admissions process. The approach supported a more reliable and valid evaluation of fit, and Dr. Mike Roscoe reported that using Casper previously led to 100% first-time pass rates and low attrition, even among students with lower GPAs.
