UAMS Medical Center’s joint Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences needed a more holistic, accessible admissions process for a small faculty-led team, while also finding an alternative to the GRE that better assessed readiness for a healthcare career and supported more diverse applicants. Acuity Insights provided Casper to help the program evaluate applicants’ personal and professional attributes alongside academic measures.

Using Acuity Insights’ Casper alongside the Health Sciences Reasoning Test, the program gained a richer view of applicants and used the results in final reviews with GPA, personal statements, references, and interviews to identify consistencies and investigate outliers. The case study reports early signs of more applications from under-represented groups and says the combined assessments helped the team make more informed, mission-aligned admissions decisions.
