Plixer International develops Scrutinizer, a NetFlow/IPFIX/sFlow network analysis tool that helps organizations identify heavy users, top applications, and anomalous traffic. As Scrutinizer grew, Plixer’s engineering team was spending too much time rebuilding and customizing installations for each customer and needed a standard, enterprise-grade Perl build and deployment method that would integrate easily into customer environments.

Plixer adopted ActiveState’s ActivePerl and ActivePerl Pro Studio, gaining a consistent, supported Perl distribution and a packaged development/deployment toolset. The change shortened development cycles, eliminated licensing hassles, simplified integration onto single servers, and let the team refocus on core product features—while also becoming a selling point with customers.
