PwC Implements ActivePDF Server to Generate and Archive Complex Tax Filings

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a global professional services firm, generates hundreds of thousands of tax documents each filing season and needed to reliably convert and archive these forms as PDFs for long-term storage. Creating and storing PDF filings from workstations slowed application performance during peak volumes and existing options required expensive licensing and complex Windows file-naming registry changes.

PwC implemented ActivePDF Server as a server-side print-to-PDF solution integrated into their custom tax application, automating conversion, archiving, and local printing via a virtual printer. The system programmatically names files by account number (avoiding registry edits), eliminated the archiving bottleneck, processed roughly 200,000 complex PDFs without issues, lowered costs, and freed staff to focus on client work.
