Downey Regional Medical Center, a 199‑bed hospital serving southeast Los Angeles with more than 1,800 staff, needed a cost‑effective way to distribute large volumes of policies and procedures. Documents were largely hard copy or difficult to find electronically, and the IT team wanted to avoid a resource‑intensive rollout of desktop software across the organization.

DRMC implemented ActivePDF Server (running on Windows NT/IIS with MSSQL and DocGenius), which was simple to deploy and customizable via included sample code. Staff now log into an intranet site to quickly search, access and publish indexed documents through a web browser, providing secure, company‑wide access to training materials and policy databases while reducing rollout cost and training overhead.
