The Intellectual Property Legal Firm, a specialist in protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights with more than 200 staff producing binding legal documents, faced the need to enforce consistent, compliant document generation and management without adding onerous overhead. To address this, the firm adopted ActiveDocs document automation, integrating ActiveDocs with MS Word and the firm’s iManage case management and Inprotech IP systems to ensure legal case management and document-generation tools properly supported document-oriented legal processes.

ActiveDocs implemented a Word‑integrated solution using ActiveDocs Templates, a Document Wizard and Snippets that pull case data from Inprotech, generate metadata and route completed documents automatically to iManage for profiling and storage. The ActiveDocs approach created a single, seamless process for all document types, delivered a consistent and intuitive user experience for legal secretaries, maintained compliance through centrally managed templates, and removed the need for manual monitoring and quality control.
