CoBank, ACB — a wholesale bank in the U.S. Farm Credit System — faced a challenge: creating unique, legally rigorous lending and leasing documents required deep expertise from Legal Lending Specialists and a cumbersome library of ~350 templates and 700+ clauses. CoBank engaged ActiveDocs and implemented ActiveDocs Opus to enable a much larger group of employees to produce complex documents that embed business rules and decision logic.

ActiveDocs delivered ActiveDocs Opus, migrating Word templates with full fidelity, encoding hundreds of business rules in the Opus Rules Engine, and integrating via Data Views with CoBank’s SQL data, a custom customer workspace, and OpenText eDocs. The result: nearly 80% fewer templates, broad user ability to generate accurate documents without specialist intervention, centralized data maintenance, and the ~2,000 person‑hour project completed on schedule and within 5% of budget.
