Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association - Customer Case Study

The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), a state organization of roughly 130 affiliated clubs serving about 52,000 players across 12 districts, faced a fragmented, paper-based registration system that relied on self-reporting. Clubs collected fees and mailed player files—sometimes on floppy disks—or only provided counts, causing delayed or missing payments, no centralized player database, and difficulty meeting US Youth Soccer’s roster reporting requirements.

WYSA convened a representative task force, issued an RFP, and selected Active Network’s LeagueOne for a statewide implementation, training clubs in spring 2009. The new platform created a single, real-time player database, improved registration timeliness and accuracy, enabled targeted communications, and reduced manual work—resulting in better data visibility, streamlined processes, and responsive vendor support.
