OPERS, the Office of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports at the University of California, Santa Cruz, needed to replace slow, paper-based registration and payment processes with a more efficient way to manage its recreation, wellness, intramural, and athletics programs. The department turned to ACTIVE Network’s ACTIVE Net platform to unify multiple campus recreation operations in one system.

ACTIVE Network implemented ACTIVE Net in phases, adding online registration and payments, access control, point of sale, equipment and locker rentals, and reporting tools across programs. The results included $5,000 in online registration revenue within two days, a largely paper-free process, faster reporting, and better program coordination for staff and students.
