A ACTIVE Camps Case Study
Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) is a nonprofit serving Alameda, CA public schools since 1982, supporting up to 4,000 students with 400 after‑school and summer programs and a year‑round middle school sports program for over 600 students. AEF originally relied on paper registrations and volunteer-run payment collection, which created administrative bottlenecks and drove the organization to seek a mobile‑friendly online registration solution.
In 2016 AEF moved to ACTIVEWorks Camp & Class Manager, enabling online and mobile registration and payments, cutting paperwork and payment handling, and freeing staff and volunteers to focus on programming. The system boosted volunteer retention, removed payment duties from coaches, improved fundraising outreach with professional bulk emails, and allowed AEF to expand enrichment class offerings by 30%, while continuing to raise program quality and efficiency.
