A Action Sustainability Case Study
Transport for London (TfL), on behalf of the Greater London Authority Group, needed to proactively address the rising risk of modern slavery within its vast construction projects and supply chain. Despite having internal guidelines, the group sought specialized external expertise from Action Sustainability to develop a standardized, organization-wide risk-assessment process to identify high-risk areas and minimize potential instances of forced labor.
Action Sustainability developed a tailored risk assessment framework that included a new form, targeted tender questions, and an evaluation guide. This solution provided procurement staff with clear, user-friendly resources, replacing a need for constant expert support and saving the team significant time. The project successfully raised internal awareness, improved competency, and established a consistent, company-wide approach to tackling modern slavery, which the GLA Group has since built upon with further training and communication initiatives.
